Colleena Shakti has dedicated her life to dance ever since moving to India for rigorous apprentice-style dance training in Extensively trained in Odissi classical dance under Smt. Sujata Mohapatra and well-versed in many styles of classical, folk and contemporary dance from India and beyond, Colleena lives an artistic path steeped in rich tradition. Yoga and related aesthetic philosophies are an integral part of her holistic vision of art inspiring her to bridge timeless values with modern expression.

Colleena&#;s dance life began with exploring dance as a child and deepened as she began Belly Dancing in Belly Dance captured her spirit with its freedom in movement, passionate music and the way it connected her with other women whom she was learning with. It was the richness in Belly Dance vocabulary that sparked a curiosity in the wide range of cultures across the Orient which Belly Dance drew its movement from.

This is the story of Colleena Shakti, a girl brought up in the US who made India her home, learnt Odissi classical dance here and started running a school in an ancient year-old Pushkar temple in India which has been teaching dance mudras to thousands of students around the world.
The story of this dance school continues even with the school remaining closed due to the pandemic. However, Colleena is running online classes, presently being based in Greece and connecting the classical dance with the world with her strong dedication.
Colleena is now a world-renowned Indian dancer and her Shakti School of Dance in Purana Rangnath Venugopal Temple in Pushkar, Rajasthan, is a known name across the world.
She is acting as a bridge these days, transcending the stories of Indian art, dance and music to students all across the world via online medium as the school is closed since March last year owing to the pandemic.
