The cause of death for Gigi Jordan, the multimillionaire pharmaceutical executive convicted of killing her 8-year-old autistic son inside an upscale New York City hotel room, was revealed on Wednesday.
Jordan, 62, was found dead on Dec. 30 inside the Brooklyn home she rented at around a.m. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor had issued an order hours earlier revoking Jordan’s bail. On Wednesday, the manner of death was ruled a suicide, according to reports.
The cause of death was "asphyxia by covering of head with plastic bag and displacement of oxygen by nitrogen gas," the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled, according to the New York Post.

Former Pharmaceutical Exec Gigi Jordan Sentenced to 18 Years for Killing 8-Year-Old Autistic Son
Gigi Jordan, a former pharmaceutical executive and New York socialite, was sentenced Thursday to 18 years in prison after being convicted in the poisoning death of her autistic 8-year-old son.
She faced five to 25 years at her sentencing, CBS New York reports.
In October, Jordan, 54, told CBS New York that she served her son, Jude, a poisonous cocktail of prescription drugs, vodka and juice in a luxury suite at New York’s Peninsula Hotel in February out of “a mother’s love.”
Jordan claimed she killed Jude to save him from further sexual abuse by his biological father, Emil Tzekov. Tzekov denied these claims and was never charged.
“I wanted him to be safe and at peace at any cost,” she told the news station, adding that she attempted to take her own life after her son’s.
In November, a jury accepted her lawyer’s claim that she was in a state of “extreme emotional disturbance” at the time of the act. She was found guilty of first-degree manslaughter.
At the time of sentencing, Jordan addressed judge Charles Solomon saying, “I’ll live with guilt for the rest of my li
NEW YORK -- Gigi Jordan, a former pharmaceuticals executive and socialite convicted in the death of her autistic 8-year-old son, was sentenced Thursday to 18 years in prison, reports CBS New York. That's seven years less than the maximum she faced.
The prosecution asked Judge Charles Solomon to hit Jordan with the maximum sentence, and her defense team argued for leniency.
In a jailhouse interview with CBS New York in October, Jordan said she killed her son with a poisonous cocktail of drugs, vodka and juice in the luxury Peninsula Hotel in midtown Manhattan in February out of "a mother's love."
Jordan assembled several of the city's top attorneys who said she was in the throes of fear and panic, based on her belief that her son was the victim of emotional physical and sexual abuse, inflicted on him by predators in his life.
Those accusations were never substantiated in court, but Jordan told the station she believed her son, Jude Mirra, faced a fate worse than death should she die.
"I wanted him to be safe and at peace at any cost," Jordan said.
In the interview, she said her biggest regret was her failed suicide on the night she killed her son.
"That was my intent, wa
The death of millionaire Gigi Jordan – the mom who murdered her 8-year-old autistic son in a Manhattan hotel room – has been ruled a suicide by the city medical examiner after she was found dead in a Brooklyn home she had been renting.
The medical examiner said that Jordan had died by asphyxia by covering her head with a plastic bag.
Jordan's bail had just been ordered revoked by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor a day earlier amid ongoing questions and legal fights over whether she could remain out on bail as she sought a new trial.
Several officials had previously said suicide was one possibility given Jordan's bail being revoked and that she was found dead in a bathtub with a note nearby. But one of her attorneys, Norman Siegel, said his client sounded in good spirits hours earlier when the two spoke by phone.
The year-old pharma millionaire had admitted to plunging a lethal dose of medications down her son's throat with a syringe in a hotel room in She then ingested multiple medications herself and emailed a relative, who alerted authorities.
Jordan claimed at her trial that she had decided to kill herself and her son, Jude Mirra, because she believed that one of
