Lord Mandelson has married his long-term partner at a wedding attended by guests including Kate Garraway, her husband Derek Draper and former prime minister Tony Blair.
The Labour grandee, 70, said he was 'delighted' to tie the knot with Reinaldo Avila da Silva, 51, at the Old Marylebone Town Hall in London yesterday after 27 years together.
The newlyweds, who met via mutual friends in , beamed as wedding guests threw confetti over them as they walked out of the ceremony.
There was also a touching moment where Mandelson shook the hand of his former researcher and adviser Mr Draper who attended the wedding in a wheelchair in a rare outing. The peer held Miss Garraway's hand at the same time.
Mr Draper - who worked for Mandelson in the 90s - was diagnosed with coronavirus at the beginning of the pandemic in March and left in a life-threatening condition. He now requires 24/7 care at home.

While Lord Mandelson’s moolah-making activities are well-documented, it has always been a bit of a mystery how his exotically named Brazilian partner Reinaldo Avila da Silva earns his crust.
But the riddle may be about to be solved. For in a rare glimpse above the parapet, Reinaldo has popped up on social media site LinkedIn.
Under his employment listing, he claims to be an osteopath, the alternative therapy treatment that involves manipulating muscle tissue and bones.
However, it may be that Reinaldo’s talents are for his lordship’s creaking bones alone. He doesn’t appear to be registered with the practice’s governing body, the General Osteopathic Council, meaning he would not be allowed to practise professionally.
‘Anyone who wants to practise [osteopathy] has to be registered with us,’ says a GOC spokesman.
‘If they are not on our register, theoretically, they are committing a criminal offence.’
