Competitions
All recorded music should be on an otherwise empty USB/flash. The USB with your one piece of music on it will be returned to you. Don’t forget to have a backup copy in case there are problems.
The Professional Competition has two heats. For the heats you are expected to prepare not more than 5 minutes of recorded music, of your choice, that you will perform to.
The winners will be announced, and prizes awarded later the same evening. Finalists will dance to Randa’s orchestra and will be given time for a short rehearsal. All contestants are asked to bring a list of 5 well-known Egyptian songs that they are very familiar with. Randa will choose one from each finalist’s list for them to perform to in the final round.
This will be done after the last heat, so please have your lists ready.
The Rising Star Competition will also take place and the winners will be announced, and prizes awarded.

Randa Kamel
Randa Kamel (ランダカメル)は、エジプト出身のオリエンタルダンサーであり、そして今や世界中からオファーを受ける大人気のマスターティーチャーである。
また音楽に精通しているため、作曲活動や、自身のパフォーマンスで歌うこともある。
なおダンス以外にも心理学者としての知識も持つ。
５歳でダンスと出会い、ホームパーティや結婚式で披露し始めた。
当時は、彼女の類稀なる才能に気づく人はいなかったが、本人はダンスに対する愛情に目覚めていた。
１２歳で、地元マンスーラでフォークロア（エジプト民族舞踊）を習い始める。
そしてのちに７年間、エジプトで最も権威のある国立舞踊団の一つ「レダ舞踊団」に在籍し、全てのフォークロアダンスを学び、同舞踊団の世界中の公演に参加する。
それと同時に、フォークロアグループと共演してイベントなどにも出演する。
この頃から彼女がもつ個性と才能が開花し、ソロダンサーとしての活動が増えていく。
レダ舞踊団のマネージャーの推薦により、スウェーデンにて、エジプト代表のソロダンサーとして初めてパフォーマンスを行う。
海外で活躍することで、彼女のダンスはさらに磨き上げられ、他のオリエンタルダンサーと一線を画す存在となった。
当時、エジプト国内の保守派の人々からは、オリエンタルダンサーに関して良くないイメージを持たれることもあったが、彼女はこの状況を変えようとした。
彼女の母親も、彼女の選んだ道を尊重し、一家でカイロに移住する。
１５歳でオリエンタルダンサーとしてのキャリアをスタートさせ、カイロや、アレクサンドリアで行われる結婚式、パーティ、ホテル、レストラン、さらに超高級ホテルであるMarriot、そしてNile Maxim客船では今でもレギュラーショーを勤める。
エジプト国内で現役トップダンサーとして活躍を続ける一方で、世界中からオファーを受けてオリエンタルダンスの指導を行う。
年からエジプトで ”Raqs of Course”フェスティバルを主催し、世界中からダンサーや講師を集めて、ワークショップや彼女が保有するオーケストラによるショー、参加者が踊る機会なども提供している。
また”Randa Kamel of Course”というイベントも立ち上げ、より集中的なレッスンや、こちらも参加者がオーケストラの演奏で踊る機会を提供している。
さらに 、普段から楽曲の録音などに使用している音楽スタジオの隣に、宿泊施設をオープンし、海外からエジプトに学びに来るダンサーが安全に過ごせる場所を開設する。
