When their record company, MGM, went bust, Poet & The One Man Band were forced to fold - later surfacing as Heads Hands & Feet. Jerry Donahue and Pat Donaldson were replaced by Albert and Chas Hodges, who had been collaborating on a Lee solo album for Bell. (Only a single came out: That's Alright Mama/The Best I Can, on U.S. Bell). Their self-titled debut album 'Heads Hands & Feet' (Island ILPS - May 71), featured the original version of the now classic "Country Boy". Co-written with band members Tony Colton and Ray Smith, it was a showcase for Albert's dazzling picking style. Two albums followed – 'Tracks' (Island ILPS - Mar 72), and 'Old Soldiers Never Die' (Atlantic K - Jan 73). The band did get to tour the U.S. but as the last LP's title implies, a sense of frustration had set in over the group's lack of acceptance; they disbanded before its release.

"I bummed around London for a while, doing the odd session and feeling a great sense of relief; I hadn't really enjoyed it too much".

Shortly after the group's demise, its rhythm section was signed on in the U

A Saint of Yesterday For Today — Albert is one of the two most ancient saints in the Order. Along with St. Angelus, he is called the “Father of the Order,” pater ordinis, for his sanctity and the exemplary quality of his life We do not have much information about his life, but we can trace its main lines with reliability. The oldest biography was written probably a little after and is the basis of a second manuscript text by an anonymous Carmelite now preserved in the Vatican Library. We know of two other ancient biographies of St. Albert, one by Vincenzo Barbaro and the other by Theodore de Aquis.

There are also medieval biographies of Albert by Giovanni M. de Poluciis of Novarella, and the Legenda aurea, both dating from the fifteenth century. These depend on the saint’s biography by Theodore de Aquis. In the same period various items of information were gathered in the lists of saints which goes under the name of the Catalogus sanctorum.
A tradition confirmed by various documents says that Albert was born in Trapani around the middle of the thirteenth century. His parents were Benedetto degli Abati and Giovanna Polizi, a couple who had been unable to have children in twenty-

Graft-fighting NYPD cop Robert Leuci dies at 75

Robert Leuci, a former New York City police detective whose undercover whistleblower work in the early s led to the indictment of dozens of NYPD narcotics detectives, died on Monday at the age of

For nearly two years, Leuci wore a wire and secretly recorded meetings with mobsters and corrupt cops, lawyers and judges for the Knapp Commission, a five-member investigative committee appointed by then-New York City Mayor John Lindsay in the wake of revelations about NYPD corruption brought by another New York City cop, Frank Serpico.

Serpico was among those who urged Leuci — who at the time was a corrupt young cop himself — to begin cooperating with Knapp Commission investigators.

“He was a guy who was on the wrong side of the law and desperately wanted to be on the right side, and he literally risked his life to do that,” said Nicholas Scoppetta, a former New York City fire commissioner and assistant US attorney who worked closely with Leuci on the investigation, adding that Leuci’s undercover work was fraught with risk.

“Frank was kind of a first, but he was talking about gambling corruption,” Scoppetta said. “Bob was in the

Camille Cosby on her husband’s appeal and the Black Lives Matter and #MeToo movements

In her first major media interview in six years, Bill Cosby's wife Camille Cosby told ABC News that she is "very, very pleased" that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to hear part of her husband's appeal -- but insisted that the #MeToo movement needs to "clean up their act" and that she doesn't "care" about the feelings of scores of women who have accused her husband of drugging and sexually abusing them.

Cosby also addressed a spectrum of contemporary issues, from the protests against George Floyd's death in police custody and the fluid nature of race relations in America to why she doesn't visit her husband in prison.

The state Supreme Court's decision came down hours before a previously scheduled interview with Cosby about her reemergence from the shadows of two high-profile criminal trials. Tens of millions of dollars in donations the couple made over decades to colleges and universities have been returned since the once-beloved entertainer's conviction.
