Ugledni violinist Peter Sheppard Skærved s Kraljevske glazbene Akademije iz Londona gostuje u Zagrebu
Ovim će koncertom pod nazivom „Glazba, glazbala, umjetnost i ideje – “ profesor Skærved predstaviti dijalog između prošlosti i sadašnjosti u suradnji s danskom spisateljicom i filmskom redateljicom Malene Sheppard Skærved te studentima Muzičke akademije u Zagrebu. Profesora Skærveda u Zagreb dovodi red. prof. art. Anđelko Krpan, profesor violine i prodekan za umjetnost na Muzičkoj akademiji u Zagrebu u suradnji s Muzejem za umjetnost i obrt te Muzejem suvremene umjetnosti. Koncert je dio projekta Razmjena znanja violinom pod vodstvom Petera Shepparda koji već dugo održava veze s hrvatskom glazbenom scenom. Prvi je puta nastupio u Zagrebu pred više od dvadeset godina, kao gost ansambla Zagrebački solisti. Tom prigodom engleski skladatelj Nigel Clark je napisao skladbu za Petera Shepparda Skaerveda i Zagrebačke soliste. Jedna skladba Nigela Clarka bit će izvedena i na ovom koncertu. Cilj projekta s kojim ove godine gostuje u Hrvatskoj je povezivanje svjetskih muzeja: od najstarijeg europskog muzeja Ashmolean muzeja u
Recording 'Here lies the Memory'
This year&#;s Nashville- London Exchange programme afforded me the pleasure of getting to know the wonderful young composer Laurie Bamon.
The composer's hand. I am completely fascinated with the way composers relate to pen, to pencil, to paper. This scrap of manuscript is from a sketch that Laurie worked on in the course of a workshop in March of this year. It was the first time that I was able to work with here, and her concern for even this simplest of material, her understanding of how to inspire players to conjure with her ideas, her sonorities, convinced me that hers is a very special voice.
I am very pleased to say that there will be opportunities to hear Laurie&#;s exquisitely refined music on a number of up coming dates:

Peter Sheppard Skærved gives an open-air performance of Viotti’s Ranz des Vaches
For the Sentimental Work section in the March issue of The Strad, British violinist Peter Sheppard Skærved chose the short piece Ranz des Vaches by Giovanni Battista Viotti:
In , exploring the collection of the French National Library in Paris, I chanced upon a small pamphlet written by Viotti in It contained probably the most beautiful and extraordinary bit of writing about music that I’d ever come across. He described a walk in the Swiss Alps, where he got lost in a ravine and fell into what he called ‘a profound reverie’, overwhelmed by the beauty of the place. Then he heard the sounds of ‘a long trumpet’, which was obviously an alphorn: ‘These seemed to rise from one mountain and fly across to another, without being repeated by the echoes.’ At that moment he resolved to ‘engrave this Ranz des Vaches on my memory’, and write it down for all to hear.
